OK, well mirroring real life I thought I’d write in here even though I’ve not really felt any urge to do so for a few months recently. My personal life took a battering in October but things are a lot better now, although there are still a number of issues I’m battling with, but that’s another story for another day 
So how have my earnings/website promotions fared in recent months? Truthfully not too good.
There seems to be a sort of base line of earnings which my money has not dropped below.
I still earn a bit of adsense every day, plus some amazon and clickbank sales each month. I also get traffic to other things I promote but the earnings are not so good.
So how much? Well Its quite embarrassing if I’m honest because they’ve dropped a lot, in line with me “not doing any work on them”.
The Adsense has averaged around $250 to $350 a month, and has never really dropped below that, which is nice, because thats kind of like free money each year coming in and in. Amazon normally sits around the $50 to $100 mark and Clickbank around $30 a month. I also earn $100 a month from some software I promote which has a monthly membership attached to it, plus some earnings from the promotion of none other than the WordPress Goldmineforum I am a devotee of (and have been since October 2009). So about $580 a month coming in.
My issue has always been ramping this up to ten times this level… a level most people aspire to, having all bills paid each month so there are no financial strains placed on me.
The annoying thing is that at one point my adsense was really increasing very well, and some days I was getting to around $40 a day in adsense alone. This came as a result of paying people to write articles for my sites and for backlink promotional work.
I think now and imagine what I could have been earning by now… a full time income should really have been on the cards at this stage.
At the time my earnings were going well, I was devoting around $300 a month to content creation. Then family issues meant that the budget got cut and that then saw a decline in earnings.
These days its been around 4 months since Ive really been “in the zone” and methods change. At the moment people are talking about content curation but I want to concentrate on my sites.
Ive tried to focus on 2 or 3 of my best earners and have regularly placed backlinks to my pages using BMR, but have added very little new content. Im now trying to address this again and increase the content. I did see some earnings increase from this last month but once again Ive eased off because I guess I feel distracted with other aspects of my life.
Some thoughts that go through my mind are the fact that one guy who runs a website on the solar system only writes content, 2 -3 pieces a day, and he now makes over $50,000 a month from Adsense!
So.. should I just go content mad, and forget about linking, or do both… ???????
Im guessing both.. but another thing that enters my mind is that when you set a new site up it can rank on page 1 within days sometimes, just from Google so it makes you wonder how important backlinks really are. I know there is a whole can of worms that can be opened up but it would be good to discuss this… so feel free to discuss below.
With 41 sites I simply cant afford to do this:
- write 1-3 backlinks a day via BMR per site
- write 4-10 content pieces per month
- use UAW or EZAL
- use socialadr
so Ive been trying to focus on my best earning sites… even when theyre boring, lol. Thats why Im outsourcing stuff.
Anyway id love to hear your methods at the moment.. Im just fed up that each month is the same… id like to see progress each month, adding $200-$500 a month in earnings and increasing…
whats your thoughts?

I thought it would be good to mention something. About 3 weeks ago my wife and I split up. For a while I was extremely low, especially only seeing my kids half as much as what I was accustomed to.
Anyway, fast forward 3-4 weeks and I’m trying to rebuild my life. I’ve taken up fitness and have managed to lose more than 14 pounds in weight and am determined to reinvent myself. It also gives me a good feeling.
As for the internet marketing, well Ive not been able to face it at all since then, but I keep trying. I keep checking in at my second home (wordpress goldmine) and am trying to keep up to date on things but I keep having up and down days.
I realize now that I NEED to make this stuff work, more than ever… not just for me, so I can buy anew home, but so I can buy myself more time, so I can take the kids to school, pick them up and be in their life as much as possible. I also want to make myself a better proposition down the line, and this means getting regular income coming in, getting my website income well and truly UP and getting back on track with everything. No more messing.
At some point I would want to meet someone new who also likes the things I do and see how that goes but for now, life is happening again, slowly but surely.
Thankfully the adsense income has continued to come in and a trickle of amazon and clickbank but not as much as it used to be because Ive not shown the attention I should have done.
I keep kicking myself for all the missed opportunities. If I had pushed hard regardless I may well have been on 10 x what I am on now and living a full time income-life.
That’s the real kicker and what I want to address now…
I’m just trying to figure out a plan:
Quality content, outsourced marketing etc on a budget that I am going to stick to.
When I was spending $300 a month on content creation the income went up and up and up and the ride was amazing… It got to about $70/day but then I needed the cash for other things, so that’s got to be the first thing to reinstate.
My role now is to get those keyword lists sorted out so I can send them to writers… lets get the good times going again.

Internet Marketing – A Career For Life Perhaps?
I’m sure many people do Internet Marketing for very similar reasons – financial security, more relaxed and a better standard of life. For some of us it can be hard to get motivated every day, and you find that you often become distracted with mundane stuff – checking emails, reading a WSO, checking over your favourite internet marketing forum, making a drink etc. In fact when it comes to learning myu artform (aka internet marketing!) I am absolutely terrible and getting and staying focused.
Ive been on vacation this week. Took the wife and kids to the seaside at sunny Ingoldmells on the east coast of the UK. Ok it wasn’t sunny, apart from Thursday, but we enjoyed it.
Sitting on the beach, feeling the sand through your fingers and enjoying the waves coming in makes you feel really grateful for life. You tell yourself that you want more of this.
Internet Marketing – Getting Motivated
This is how it’s been for me, and right now I am more charged than ever. Ive written down a list of things I need to do, that have been accumulating in my mind. Changin to a VPS host, putting the w3 total cache with amazon s3 on all 45+ sites and testing out a theme which is supposed to convert at up to 12% for adsense. I’ve got a number of adsense sites which are 3% and 5% so this is going to be tried on those. It would be nice to double or triple the adsense earnings, or even for an extra $100 a month – we shall see!
So if you are finding it hard to get motivated, why not go and touch the things which make life worth living. It makes you wonder if this is what it takes to get you charged. Feeling and touching the things in life which touch you.
Why not plan a day to the coast yourself – it doesnt have to be a hot day. In fact the beach is less cluttered with people when it’s not a hot day. Just get up, go and take stock of life.
Why do I do internet marketing?
For peace of mind, and the satisfaction of knowing I did it.
I was responsible and I got the answers.
Life is right now.
You have to work out what life is for you. Well, it’s that time again to put “pen to paper” and show how my Adsense, Amazon, Clickbank (etc). earnings have been progressing, so without further adieu, let’s get this party started.
I had this wild desire to hit $1500 this month – would ahve been nice, but then I essentially got dragged away from the PC for almost the whole month, so this has had an effect. Plus, last month I got a whopping $400 earnings commission for one person’s purchase via Amazon, which was a one-off. Last month was $1100, so really the relistic earnings was around $700. Let’s see how things have gone..
Adsense Income: £182.64 ($292.38 USD Equivalent) – (February was £160.37 ($256.73 USD Equivalent))
Clickbank earnings: £75.81 ($121.34 USD Equivalent) – (February was £58.55 ($93.71 USD Equivalent))
Amazon earnings: £41.32 ($66.12 USD Equivalent) - (February was £265.69 ($425.11 USD Equivalent))
WPGM Affiliate Earnings: – £25.27 ($40.46 USD Equivalent) – (February was £12.79 ($20.48 USD Equivalent))
Other Affiliate Earnings: £187.42 ($300 USD Equivalent) – February was £174.94 ($280 USD Equivalent))
Total March earnings £512.46 ($819.75 USD Equivalent) – February AVERAGE earnings was (i.e. without the one off $400 commission) £422.34 (or $675.61 USD Equivalent)
That’s a £90.12 INCREASE over the previous month ($144.13 USD Equivalent).
How many jobs let you increase your monthly wage each month? Oh, and how many jobs would say “Don’t bother coming in to work this month, and you can have a pay increase too“…

Hi again, in January 2011 I managed to hit $745 in overall earnings. This felt really rather special. It was suggested to me that perhaps I should aim high for February and see if I could break the magic 4 figure income…
I did…
I actually earned $1123.35 overall and breaking this barrier really is rather special. Part of this came from a huge $400 commission from amazon when someone ordered 50 e-book readers… yep….!
Seriously, if I can do it, anybody can do it. The key is never give up, keep asking questions and ACT on the answers… respect others and their opinions and thank those who have helped you get to where you are.
I have asked for help from a lot of people and a lot of people have helped me and it’s paid off. I’ve probably pissed off a few people along the way, but the way I see things, is that it doesn’t always sink in for me in the written form (short attention span) but one on one works extremely well.. the one on one sessions Ive done with folks via PM, via instant messenger and in-person have most definitely been the major triggers.
Onwards and upwards.. Im aiming for $1500 for March, but I am also aware that I may not get a $400 commision like before, so it could well be $700 again.. however on a positive note, I have started doing 2 sets of ezarticlelinks on each of my top 5 sites – and I am goign to build them up to around 10 a site and re-evaluate.
Ive also got sites stewing in linxboss as well, so hoping to see that rub off in the not to distant future.
Anyway, thats it for this update. All Ive learned has been from wordpress goldmine – there is a link in the sidebar if you’d like to take a trial and come and say hi to me – Ive been there since October 2009 now.. weird huh… you stick with something instead of jumping from opportunity to opportunity and guess what happens…

Hi,
Just felt the need to drop something down in here today. I have made myself very busy, very busy indeed. I have set some high targets I want to hit by the middle of July, so I have been extremely busy pushing really hard with promotional activities on all of my 50+ sites (eek!).
I think I’ve got too many, but have neglected several for some time, and I am pushing to see which are worthy of keeping before their domains come up for renewal. It’s time to shape up I guess!
Anyway this boost of activity is all good. I had expected a dip in earnings for 4-6 weeks while the backlinks hit and settle down, but I am surprised and have seen a couple of orders on Clickbank, so I am actually at my highest level ever in Clickbank, which is cool. I’m not going to complain, lol!
I tell you what though, It’s really sinking home about the amount of work needed, and more importantly, picking the right keywords in the first place. A good 60% of my domains were a bit wishy-washy, but surprisingly several of them are looking good.
I started all this IM stuff October 2009, and was lucky to be making 30 cents every few days. It continued like this for months. Funny how things are for once going upwards, even though slowly. I am now working harder than ever and more consistent than ever too.
Oh well, onwards and upwards – essentially Adsense is going at least as good as last month, if not a little better. Amazon is average and clickbank is a good month – my best yet.

Hi folks, well 2011 and is certainly upon us eh? I want to round up the fun Ive had this month with Adsense, Amazon and Clickbank earnings.
If you didn’t know, I made the decision to try this full time in April when I had some cash sitting round. I wasn’t 100% sure back then how much I could do, and to be honest I spent a lot of the time dealing with things related to my late father in laws estate, having a driveway and patio built.
Anyway, what Ive noticed is that many people in WordPress Goldmine would take at least a year for things to start sinking in. During all of this time many people would also join and leave, but that’s life. Then there are those who “get it” very quickly and really impress you.
Just a few of the people who have really impressed me the most this year are:
Paul Nicholls – I noticed he spent some time getting it together but once he “got it” – he really got it.
Heather Hyvarinen – This lady proudly states she was a technophobe just a short space of time ago and she is now doing incredible things
George McNaney – I spent a day doing training with this guy, and after seing “proof” I can asure you all this “IM stuff” is “very real”.
There are MANY more I want to say thanks to who have each done their “little bit” to switch certain lighbulbs on inside my head, ranging from Mark Thompson, Paul Forcey, BHJMom,Keith Evans,Leepy40,Rita012,Richr and many more. So to ALL of you, I really want to say a genuine thank you. I apologise if I missed anyone obvious.
Let’s take a look at how the finances went in December
Adsense: December £106.87 (166.84 USD) - November was £149.73 ($233.39 USD) – down by £43.
Amazon: December was £107.54 ($167.89 USD ) -November was £29.36 ($45.77) – up by £77.
Clickbank: £19.53 ($30.49 USD) – November was £38.49 ($60) – down by around £19
WPGM – $20 earnings.
Other earnings: $260
So the overall earnings was $645.22 USD (£413.29 GBP)
Expenditure is £112, leaving a clear profit of £301.29 ($470.35 USD)
That’s that out of the way, so now it is time for me to plan for the future once again.
I’ve been going over my plans and there is a clear couple of pieces of software essential for my business. Linxboss and Ezarticlelink.
These two are part of a collection of things I use that I deem to be essential.
Both are very very powerful. Ezarticlelink is fantastic and Linxboss is like “wow”. It’s hands-free and it shot 2 of my sites to position 1 page 1 within a month of use. This was 5 months ago and they are still there.
I did unsubscribe from both of these for 3 months recently when earnings took a dip and I needed to gear up for Christmas, but I have renewed both services again.
What’s going to be happening in 2011 for me?
After mytraining with george and skype help from heather and Paul Forcey as well as email help from Paul Nicholls (thanks all of you) I have now proven myself.
Ive carefully built 3 sites since my training, and predicted where they would land in the serps.
They all did what I wanted. Page 1. Nothing to do with spammy rubbish content, but rather building up decent sites with plenty of pages and of course good on-site seo.
So I now believe I understand the keys, and now this is going to be my year.
I have seen my colleagues go from a few hundred a month to a few thousand dollars a month, all in the last year. I hope to follow that same path in 2011 and be 100% passive income reliant before the end of 2011.
I recommend you do the same if you want to get going and change your life. Only when I stopped all the “crap” and flitting from program to program did things start to happen. Weird huh?
Now before you think you haven’t got any time, think of me. I work from home full time by writing for others. This is because it’s my dream. It’s hard but it’s paid the bills, and I have very little time left each day.

Each month is getting better and better.
Well my Adsense is – its grown each month and has once gain beaten last months earnings.
Talking of earnings… lets take a look:
Adsense: October was £85.71 (that is $137.63) – and November was £149.73 ($233.39 USD)
Amazon: October was £56.70 (or $91.07) – and November was £29.36 ($45.77)
Clickbank: October was £19 (Or $30) – and November was £38.49 ($60)
WPGM – $20 earnings.
Other earnings: $260 (down from $300)
So the overall earnings was $233.39 + $45.77 + $60 + $20 = $359.16 USD (£230.42 GBP)
So overall down on last month by around $300 – why?
Well I got an unplanned $50 hosting commission last month which I didnt get this month, as it was.. erm.. “unplanned”
Ive been promoting some software and the number of repeat buyers are dropping, and have dropped a lot, but this is just the name of the game.
The things I have always wanted to focus on are Adsense, Amazon and Clickbank, the others have been nice bonuses.
I am over the moon because this month I had been focusing on Adsense,.. and guess what.. earned more. In fact it went up by almost 80%!
I’ve dropped a few of my un-needed subscriptions to keep costs down, but plan to come back to some of them later.
So, expenditure is now only £112 so overall clear profit is £118.42 which is a small drop on last month by around £40 on the previous month.
In recent months I’ve been doing some Skype training with Heather Hyvarinen from the wordpress goldmine forum as well as having spent a day with George from Broon Dog Internet Marketing for a days training.
Both of these are available inside wordpress goldmine and offer training services.
Its starting to pay off.
Now I am focusing on keyword research, having had identified my weak points, things are really coming together.
When I was with George we built a site together which ranked on page 1 of Google within 48 hours.
Then I went home, did the same and predicted a position 7 on page 1… guess what…
position 8! lol, but to be fair another 48 hours later it DID get to position 7 – so its GOOD TO KNOW that doing it right and knowing how to do it works.
So expect to see continued growth.
I am now going to be pushing and pushing pages – pages that this time, I know should rank well.
A guy in the WordPress Goldmine forum called Briyan focused. In 5 months of doing Adsense he is now earning $117 a day.
If like me you want to waste 14 months tinkering along without really knowing what to do then carry on, else join WordPress Goldmine and you could see things happning for yourself.
Anyway, that obviosu bit of promotion out of the way, the serious note here is that with knowledge and focus comes money. Bryan did this. He focused on Adsense and took what he found to work and turned it into a full time income.
Guess what – he has built 200 pages of content – 50 sites with 4 on each, and only 64 of them are on page 2 – all that money from page 2!!!!
When he hits page 1 his income is going to shoot up to incredible levels.
Anyway, armed with this, Ive drawn a planner for my wall with 200 squares on it. Can you guess what Im going to do with it…?
Each page I make using my new found understanding is going to have a line drawn through that square.
Im aiming to do 1-2 or more pages a day so Im keen to see what happens in 3 months from now. Im going to be focusing on Adsense.

Well I am happy to report continued good things are happening, and so far each month is improving on the previous month.
Onwards and upwards in baby steps right?
I am actually ecstatic with the progress that has been made this month and I can wholeheartedly put it all down to what I have been doing with WordPress Goldmine (go on, take the crazy $5 trial!).
I’ve been doing a number of things this month and wanted to lay it all out – if I can do it, believe me, ANYONE can do it!
For a start I have been tweaking the overall layout of where to put the Adsense ads on each of my 50 sites. In the WordPress Goldmine forum a layout for best ad placement was revealed and I have used this to tweak each site. It’s only been a few days but I have definitely seen somewhere between a 30% and a 50% improvement in earnings.
Talking of earnings… lets take a look:
Adsense: September was £47.20 GBP ($74.28 USD) – in October I managed to turn it into £85.71 (that is $137.63) – so it almost doubled.
Amazon: September was £10.35 ($16.30 USD) – In October I saw a great leap. I earned £56.70 (or $91.07)
Clickbank: I earned around the same as last month £19 (Or $30)
New sales: I managed to pull in a hosting client for a nice $50 commission
WPGM – $30 earnings.
Other earnings: $300 (down from $480)
So the overall earnings was $300 = $$30 + $50 + $30 + $91.07 + $137.63 = $638.70 USD (£397.75 GBP)
So overall about $33 UP on the previous month, despite a drop of $180 from promoting some software.
Expenditure is £235.94 so overall clear profit is £161.81 which is £20 more than the previous month despite the big drop.
Ok, last October I knew nothing about internet marketing. Zilch!
Now I wish this was more but it isn’t, I’ll deal with it, lol.
As with any learning curve you tend to not notice any big changes for ages, and then once it begins, it snowballs. So Now I “know” what to do it’s just a case of continuing on with this.
Oh well back to work!

Hi again.
Things are up, most certainly up. It seems everyone around me at WordPress Goldmine is seeing success each and every month.
Basically this month has seen an increase in activity, but more and more I am noticing what I am NOT doing (and not enough of) – ie backlinking consistently, soI know there is room for much improvement.
How do I know this? Well a friend of mine called Heather has been using an outsourcer to write 1 piece of unique content a day, post it to her site, and post a backlink on a certain couple of sites (gonna do an in-depth review soon, becaue these sites are working out great).
Before the outsourcer that site was doing$20 a month, month 1 was $40, month 2 was $80 and now she hit $300. The outsourcer is now paying for herself. once the outsourcer is doubling the profit, Heather intends to add another outsourcer – now isnt that a model for success?
Small baby steps each and every day with a concerted focused effort.
Ok, well guess I better post my own figures.
Adsense – last month £26 GBP ($41 USD) – this month £47.20 GBP ($74.28 USD)
Amazon – last month £3.59 GBP ($5.66 USD) – this month £10.35 ($16.30 USD)
Clickbank – last month £25.08 GBP ( $39.50 USD) – this month £19.40 ($30.55 USD)
Total £54.67 GBP last month
This month £76.95 GBP
Other Income: $480 USD (£303 GBP).
So thankfully I’ve not veered “off course” and am still putting one foot in front of the other on the right path, and not walking off the path into the desert!
Now I want to find my running shoes and put them on tightly so I can start going a bit quicker.
There are still runing costs and all my running costs (based on me just starting some exciting software(but expensive) is comign in at £235.94 in running costs each month.
So total profit: £76.95+£303 = £379.95
Less business running costs of £235.94 = £144.01
£144.01 clear profit for the month of September. Keep on pushing.. links and content…
Thoughts:
I had some sites built, and Ive also joined 3 services in September that are great for backlinks – so this month I intend to do a lot more “pushing” of additional phrase “per site” – instead of continuously starting new sites.
After all each phrase/page is looked upon as a new site in itself in the eyes of Google, well according to popular belief anyway – guess this is why some pages can outrank other sites on their own.
Plans for october 2010 – I need to ensure I do my “writing” services to “pay the bills” – this has to come first, especially as my wife got made redundant also, we now need an insanely stupid amount of money each month just to get by so that must come first. Whatever time is left is going to be spent wisely.
I now own around 50 domains. I printed out a list of them last week, stapled the list together and identified all my sites Id had which were over 6-8 months and classed them as hard sites, and all the newer ones I classed as soft sites.
The hard sites are due a good push from one of the new backlinking sites I am testing (good results starting to come through by the way – will try to do a report soon), while the softer sites will have smaller backlinks posted to them, ie 10 a week per main site.
On top of this I want to get into pushing the sites through with consistent solid daily action. Not easy to contend with when youve got 50 but I will devise a plan.
It’s funny, because a few years ago I created a site around a tyre sealant with over 50 pages – and it shot to number 1 in Google and stayed there for over a year while I was an “area rep” for that company (more like a doormat for them..) – so the old adage of more content seems to hold true.
